Originally a utilitarian technique, saeksilnubi is a quilting technique that combines two layers of fabric with cords made from Hanji (Korean mulberry paper) and vibrant multicolored threads to create a quilted texture. The Hanji cords serve as batting or stuffing, adding structure and dimension. Repeated lines, formed with hand stitches, create geometric patterns or nature-inspired motifs, resulting in a beautifully raised texture.
