Required Supplies: - Size 10 milliner needle. - Thin threads to match appliqué fabrics (Barbie recommends Aurifil 80wt). - Small/Medium size sharp scissors. (Barbie will have extra pairs if anyone cannot travel with them). - Background Fabric: Please bring two FQ. Students can choose any colour or design they like, but keep in mind that these fabrics will be the canvas for your designs. - Appliqué Fabrics: Students should raid their scrap bins and bring a variety of fabrics for their appliqué shapes. This is the opportunity to play with colour and pattern, mixing solids, geometrics, and prints. The key is to ensure that appliqué fabrics have a clear and distinct contrast against their background fabrics so their designs really pop. Students should also make sure that some of the fabric pieces are at least 5 inches to allow room for cutting shapes.
