Prep Requirements: Decide on a color palette that matches your inspiration and then choose supplies to bring based on that. Your inspiration can be an actual photo, or just a mood board that you've created on Pinterest. It can be a piece of art or just something that you love looking at.
In this workshop, Nichole guides students through the process of transforming a blank piece of fabric into a dimensional, layered embroidery that reflects personal inspiration. Whether drawn to the colors and patterns of favorite artworks, photographs, or mood boards, students will learn how to translate visual ideas into richly textured stitched pieces.
Nichole introduces a variety of embroidery stitches and techniques to build depth and dimension using thread, beads, sequins, and other embellishments. Beginners will learn the fundamentals and gain confidence, while experienced stitchers can revisit core skills and explore advanced methods, including creative layering and thread selection.
By the end of the workshop, each student will have created a unique embroidery sampler—an expressive piece that brings their inspirations to life through texture, color, and imagination.
