Seats Available?: Sold Out Required Supplies: - Fabric marking pencil (not a Frixion pen, as you do not want the marks to disappear when pressing) - Stephanie likes the SEWLINE TRIO MARKING PENCIL (it works on light and dark fabrics) https://sewline.com.au/product/trio/ - Small ruler with 1/4” markings (Stephanie prefers a 1.5” x 6.5” or 2.5” x 6.5”) - Cherish Quilt Pattern by Tales of Cloth https://www.talesofcloth.com/collections/cherish-quilt/products/cherish-quilt or another EPP pattern with y-seams and without curves (If you bring your own EPP pattern, please bring templates with 1/4” seam allowance. Reach out to instructor if you need help.) - 4 fat quarters for one block (feel free to bring more for a second block if you sew fast) - One FQ for fussy cutting the center is a great idea. If you choose to fussy cut the other pieces, know that you may not complete the block in class. -basic sewing supplies (I.e. pins, seam ripper, etc.)
Optional Supplies: - Seam roller or finger presser - Small personal cutting mat and small rotary cutter (Stephanie likes a 28mm rotary cutter for cutting out the templates, but a 40mm will work) - This will be helpful as we will be cutting all items from templates in class.
Love the look of English Paper Piecing but not a fan of hand sewing? In this fast-paced and fun workshop, Stephanie shows students how to recreate the signature EPP style using a sewing machine—no hand stitching required!
Students will dive into machine-friendly EPP patterns with straight lines and learn how to convert them for smooth, precise machine piecing. Stephanie will also share her go-to techniques for tackling and pressing y-seams with confidence. Acrylic templates will be available for use in the workshop.
By the end of this workshop, students will have created a bold, modern block perfect for stitching onto the back of a jacket, turning into a stylish pillow, or continuing into a striking quilt top. It's all the EPP charm—at machine speed!
Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
