In 100 years, what will quilt historians and collectors know about your quilts? In this lecture, Emma will explore how today’s quilts can be preserved for future generations. Focusing on sustainable and authentic documentation, Emma will share practical strategies tailored to modern quilters—going beyond basic labels to include written and digital records, sewing space documentation, video, and oral history.
She also will discuss the rich tradition of quilt documentation projects that have preserved quilters’ work for decades. The lecture highlights how quilters today can engage with this legacy, using documentation as both an educational tool and a source of creative inspiration.
CART (Real-Time Captioning) will be provided for all lectures in the Lecture Hall.
