Threads (Nichole’s recommended threads) ---- Sue Spargo/Wonderfil Specialty Threads Eleganza Perle Cotton in sizes 3, 5, 8 ---- Wonderfil Specialty Threads “Fruitti” or “Spaghetti” (12 wt cotton) ---- DMC Tapestry wool ---- DMC Coton Retors Mat (aka Soft Cotton)

Prep Requirements: It will help to have an idea of several medium-large motifs that you will be using in your collage. If you are unsure, bring all of your options and we can work through those decisions! It always helps to have more fabric options when collaging (large cuts of fabric aren't necessary!)
Unleash your creativity in this vibrant workshop where fabric meets imagination! In this workshop, students will explore the art of fabric collage embroidery: layering textures, colors and patterns to create a one-of-a-kind stitched composition.
Students will learn how to see fabric through a new lens—like a collage artist—discovering unexpected shapes, patterns, and designs hidden in even the simplest scraps. Then, Nichole will dive deep into embroidery and students will learn how to stitch these elements together, creating a cohesive piece, with embroidery stitches, fibers and embellishments.
This workshop is more than just embroidery—it’s an invitation to experiment and see fabric in a whole new way. Whether seasoned stitchers or new to embroidery, students will leave with an inspiring fabric collage in progress and the skills to continue experimenting well beyond the workshop. This workshop encourages breaking the rules, stitching outside the lines, and transforming fabric into a personal work of art!
