Sylvia Schaefer

Sylvia Schaefer is an author, pattern designer, and award-winning quilter. Her background in marine science often inspires her quilt designs, both directly and indirectly. Her quilts have been featured in numerous publications, and have won awards regionally and nationally. In 2017, the Craftsy Quilt Designer Fellowship allowed her to start her line of printed patterns sold under the name Flying Parrot Quilts. She particularly enjoys helping quilters find the confidence to begin designing their own quilts, and her books and lectures help guide quilters on this journey.
